Tom Phillips is a British writer, playwright, journalist, editor, and university lecturer. He holds a PhD in creative writing from the University of Reading.

Tom is the author of numerous published books, as well as theatrical plays. He's also been featured in many magazines, anthologies and pamphlets across the UK and Continental Europe.

The workshop

2 days of theory.
1 writing assignment.
2 days of feedback and Q&A.

4 evenings

The workshop will be held in 4 evenings in July: two Mondays and two Wednesdays.

In English

The entire workshop will be in English. And you'll even write a short story in English!


All 4 sessions will take place online via Zoom. You'll need a camera and a microphone.


You'll get personal feedback on the short story you'll write during the workshop.

What you'll do

Day 1 | Monday, July 13

Writing in a period of crisis and change. What stories can we tell during a pandemic? And how can we tell them most effectively?


Day 2 | Wednesday, July 15

Improving your storytelling and writing skills: key points, tips and tricks of the trade.

Creative interlude | Thursday-Sunday

You'll be expected to write and submit a short story in English for workshopping, feedback and discussion.

Day 3 | Monday, July 20

Workshop, group discussion and personal feedback on your story.

Day 4 | Wednesday, July 22


Workshop, group discussion and personal feedback on your story plus final Q&A.
